Musical Masses & Concerts

Jarvis Concert
Annually, the St. Thomas’ Choir is joined by instrumentalists (and on occasion a guest choir) to present a major choral work. Recent offerings have included Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Coronation Anthems, Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, and the Requiems of Faure, Durufle and Rutter. These concerts are underwritten by the William and Peggy Jarvis Memorial Choir Fund, an endowment established by the Jarvis family in honor of their parents.

Jazz Mass
In recent years, St. Thomas’ parishioner and Eastman School of Music professor Clay Jenkins has gathered the finest jazz musicians in the Rochester area for a highly acclaimed Jazz Mass at our principal Sunday service.

Mass on the Grass
Each Fall, on the Sunday after Labor Day, our program year kicks off with a lively celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the church lawn. A folk ensemble drawn from the parish leads the music, and the morning concludes with a picnic for all ages.
